The 3 Steps to Protect Your Assets
- Step 1 -
This first step is free. You'll summarise your current financial position by listing your assets and your liabilities on a simple form. The information is sent to the legal services company and within a week or so, you will be told exactly what pieces of
paper are required to give you comprehensive protection and what it will cost.
- Step 2 -
Having chosen whether to go for full protection or just part of it, you make your payment. Within a couple of weeks, you'll be sent a draft copy of the actual pieces of paper so you can check them for accuracy.
Your adviser will have already gone through them to ensure they’re the right legal documents for you.. - Step 3 -
When you’re satisfied they’re what you require, you’ll be sent the full, final paper documents. Once you’ve signed them, they will become legally valid and your asset protection is put in place. Then your documents are returned to the legal services
company to be checked to see they've been completed correctly and then they're stored safely. Within a few days, you’ll receive a copy of them for your own files.
